Our Moroccan adventure: Day 4 & 5 – Bye Toubkal, Bye Marrakech

What a luxury to be able to sleep until 8am! Well in my case it was more like tossing and turning in my sleeping bag – after being woken up by the flysheet flapping in the freshening wind, and then again by people getting ready for the summit attack, I can’t fall back to sleep. Our Moroccan adventure: Day 3 – Jebel Toubkal, 4167m

Did I just recently say that getting up at 5am is getting up early? Well, today our alarms ring at 4am, but we’re so excited about what lies ahead that nobody’s complaining. Luckily they are […]

Our Moroccan adventure: Day 1 – Marrakech

After several months of waiting, the time has come to leave the cold and wet Scottish spring behind and fly to the sun. The flight takes only four hours, but as the plane approaches the airport, we feel like we’ve arrived in a very different world. Everything is brown and dry, apart from the lush green of fruit plantations in the middle of the desert. The architecture doesn’t resemble European architecture in the slightest, with many buildings adorned with arches […]
